There’s still a bit of confusion about what options are available for anyone wanting to make their business mobile and like all things there’s more than one way to skin a cat. This page provides answers to some of the more frequent questions we receive about mobile apps.
Q. What is the difference between a native app and the HTML5 web app.
A. Native apps are apps that you download from the iTunes, or the Google Play store, or some other app directory. The HTML5 web app uses an interface that is analogous to the native app but you don’t download it from the app store. Rather the HTML5 web app is called when someone visits your website. We host the app code on our 99.99 % uptime cloud servers and it is only called when an incoming mobile device is detected.
Q. How much will it cost me to take my business mobile?
A. There are a lot of factors that can influence cost. Our baseline costs starts at $500.00 and depending if you need mobile commerce and how many items the cost increases there. However, every app is customized to your needs so each situation is different.
Q. Can I Get an HTML5 App and Not a Native App?
A. Yes. The two are completely different and there is no direct relationship or dependence.
Q. Do You Give Discounts?
A. Every app is customized but we will work with customers and do offer payments that allow you to extend your purchase over time. If you want it bad enough we’ll find a way and an arrangement that will fit your budget.
Q. What about analytics?
A. This is a great question. No matter if it is a web app or a native app every customer has access to a backend CMS (content management system). This CMS allows you to make changes on the fly as well as gives you access to a full set of analytics that include the number of downloads as well as which tabs are being used. This is key data that allows you to optimize your app to your customers usage habits.
Q. Will my app allow me to sell my products and services.
A. Yes! Regardless if it’s an HTML5 mobile web app or a native app on the app store you can integrate mobile commerce easily using Paypal or one of the popular ecommerce store providers, such as Shopify, Magento, or Volusion.
Q. How do I know if I need a mobile app.
A. The best way is to look at your Google Analytics data. There’s a section that will tell you exactly how much mobile traffic you’re getting and you’ll have details that include the type of device, the operating system and more. If you don’t have Google Analytics hooked up to your site there are a lot of articles on the web to help you. The service is free and invaluable.
Q. Do you provide training?
A. Yes we have a growing library of training videos that will help you as well as a support staff. We’re going to be with you every step of the way.
Q. Do you provide any services beyond just mobile apps?
A. Yes, we can provide a whole range of services. We’re very familiar with the entire internet food chain of information distribution, marketing and commerce, so if you need more than just a mobile app get in touch because whatever you need, we’ve probably done it.
